Argentina is known to be the cradle of polo. The country offers near-perfect conditions, so that the best of the best gather here for tournaments starting from September. But that doesn’t mean that lovers of the exclusive sport will always have to travel all the way to South America. After all, there’s a number of high-class, not-to-be-missed polo tournaments in Europe, too. In England, for instance, the seasons already starts in May with the prestigious Cartier Queen’s Cup at Windsor Great Park. This is a real luxury event, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that even the Royal Family often attend the event to watch the exciting matches live. In France, the Chantilly Club is the “place to be”. Being the venue of the French Open, it regularly attracts the world’s best polo players. With around 20 tournaments a year, Sotogrande is the #1 polo hotspot in Spain. In the southern Spanish province on the border to Malaga, polo lovers and players gather at Santa María Polo Club. But there are top-class polo sports events in the German-speaking countries, too. A special highlight is the Snow Polo World Cup in the snowy winter sports resort of Kitzbühel. And not to forget: KENSINGTON will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with the KENSINGTON Trophy…
